April is autism awareness and acceptance month and what better way to shine a spotlight on our community? The Autism Society San Diego is proud and excited to announce our 5th annual Lights! Camera! Autism! event.
Lights! Camera! Autism! is a celebration and showcase of the talents of many autistic adults in the areas of art, film and music hosted by, and benefiting, the Autism Society San Diego. This event is open to the entire community and our artists are allowed to sell their work during the evening. All catering and decor will be provided by autistic individuals, ensuring all aspects of the event are presented and supported by autistic adults.
Our 2023 event was a rare opportunity for our community to experience the incredible creativity and skills of over 25 local, autistic artists at the exciting Comic Con Museum in Balboa Park, San Diego. The evening included a music performance and a film presentation by Dani Bowman, an autistic woman who owns her own film production studio in Los Angeles and was recently featured on the Netflix series, Love on the Spectrum.
Lights! Camera! Autism! provides a unique, interactive opportunity and experience for local autistic adults where they are accepted and celebrated. It shines a light on their important contributions to the fabric of life in San Diego and beyond. It furthers awareness of their creativity and value as a part of our diverse community.
Stay tuned for an announcement about our 2024 event.
