Camp I CAN was created and developed by the Autism Society San Diego in partnership with the YMCA to provide kids and teens with ASD, ages 6-17, a fun, safe and nurturing camp experience. All campers receive a specially trained one on one aid to provide support and ensure they have a successful experience. Camp is held in two locations: Toby Wells YMCA in San Diego and Magdalena Family Ecke Family YMCA in Encinitas. Campers may only attend 1 week of camp. Ages Served: 04-12, 13-17 No Insurance Accepted
After school social/recreational program for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The program's main focus is to work on interpersonal skill development, teach and enhance proper play skills, community safety, and teach positive social interactions. Ages Served: 04-12, 13-17, 18-22, 23 +.
The City of San Diego, Parks and Rec Department, Therapeutic Recreation Services, provides therapeutic recreation programs for children and adults with any type of disability. Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists (CTRS) work with participants on social and recreational skill development, leisure education, appropriate behavior, and recreation participation in inclusive environments.
