Ashford Speech and Advocacy is a mobile practice in North County owned by Colleen Stern Ashford. Colleen specializes in working with Autistic clients with a Neurodiversity affirming and sensory informed approach and is trained in the Hanen "More than Words" program. She provides in-home AAC evaluations and consultations as well as therapy for receptive-expressive language disorders, phonological disorders and Childhood Apraxia of Speech. Aquatic-based Speech-Language Therapy is available on a seasonal basis. She believes in a person-centered approach and in educating families on evidence-based practices and disability rights. The Special Education Advocacy Services she provides are meant to educate and empower parents and to foster collaboration with school districts whenever possible. Virtual IEP Consultations available.
